Jason Mraz pledges he won’t marry fiancée until gay marriage is legal
Popular singer Jason Mraz makes a statement on gay marriage by saying he will only marry girlfriend Tristan Prettyman when gay couples are legally allowed to get married.
The “I’m Yours” singer asked his “dream girl” to be his wife last month, but until gay marriage is deemed legal, he won’t say I Do yet.
He told usmagazine.com during Elton John’s Concert to Benefit the American Foundation for Equal Rights in Beverly Hills last week, “”We both feel that in our engagement, we have a union that’s really special and can’t be broken. It’s a sacred bond.”
“The wedding would be nice for our family, our friends, our community – our moms especially – and so it puts us in the fight. We can’t get married until gay marriage is legal and equal. I think giving people the right to marry will be a huge movement in civil rights.”
Mraz isn’t the only one who feels exactly the same way. Brad Pitt famously said in an interview in 2006 that he and Jolie would only get married when everyone in the country is legally able to.
