Netflix’s ‘House of Cards’ Season 5 Trailer Teases New Same-Sex Relationship for Kevin Spacey’s POTUS
Netflix’s just released a new trailer for season 5 of ‘House of Cards’, and by the looks of it, POTUS Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) is getting more gay action than ever.
We first saw Underwood make love with his loyal bodyguard Edward Meechum in Season two. In Chapter 24, he walks in on his wife Claire and Meechum enjoying a drink together after the end of his shift. The three of them grow more amorous and Meechum kisses Claire on the lips, then turns and does the same to Frank.
It is implied that Underwood is bisexual but is he really? The show’s creator Beau Willimon has said that Frank Underwood doesn’t “really put much stock in those sort of labels”.
He explained: “As he says in the Sentinel episode, ‘When I’m attracted to someone, I’m attracted to them. Period’.
“He’s a man with a large appetite, he’s a man who does not allow himself to be placed in any sort of milieu or with one definition.
“I think he’s incredibly guarded with who he lets get close to him, whether that’s platonic or whether that’s sexual. And when he does, it’s not necessarily a gender or preference, it really has to do with trust.”

‘House of Cards’ Season 5 will return on Netflix on May 30th, 2017.
