Tyler Posey Sorry for Coming Out as Gay
Actor and heterosexual Tyler Posey apologizes for coming out as gay when he is not.
The ‘Teen Wolf’ star quickly retracted his statement after posting a video on Snapchat claiming he was gay.
“This is me. I am this and this is me. I never felt more alive,” he proclaims in a Snapchat video, while focusing the camera at the sign called Gay St. in New York City.
“I am gay,” he shouts with a smile, flipping the camera to show his face.
His publicist says he probably meant the statement in the context of being “happy,” rather than homosexual.
The actor took to Twitter to clear the air, saying he is “a big proponent of love over hate.”
“Although I’m not gay, I fully support the LGBTQ community. This was a moment intended to reflect that,” he wrote.
“And everyone, I am truly sorry to the people I’ve offended or lessened how big coming out is. I just want to spread love in this world,” he added.
Posey is receiving backlash from the video, which many believe is tasteless and belittles the ‘coming out’ experience.
