‘Looking’ No More, Gets Finale Special
HBO gave ‘Looking’ many chances despite low ratings. But after two seasons, it just never caught on even with good reviews and a dedicated fanbase spreading the word. The last episode of Season 2 drew a measly 300,000 viewers.
HBO has now confirmed that the critically praised Jonathan Groff comedy will not be renewed for a third season. The good news is that HBO will air a special to allow writers to tie up the storylines.
“After two years of following Patrick (Groff) and his tight-knit group of friends as they explored San Francisco in search of love and lasting relationships, HBO will present the final chapter of their journey as a special,” HBO announced in a statement. “We look forward to sharing this adventure with the shows’ loyal fans.”
Looking’s second season finale on Sunday ended with a cliffhanger that saw Patrick struggling to choose between his current boyfriend, Kevin (Russell Tovey) and his ex, Ritchie (Raul Castillo).
