Charlie Carver to play James Franco’s Ex-Lover in ‘Michael’
Charlie Carver who played gay werewolf on the hit MTV series ’Teen Wolf’ is taking on another gay role in the film ‘Michael’ which stars James Franco in the title role as a gay activist who becomes a Christian pastor and an “ex-gay”.
Carver — sans his twin brother Max — will play Tyler the ex-lover of James Franco’s Michael and Zachary Quinto’s Bennet. His character will be left heartbroken when Michael renounces his homosexuality after turning to God and eventually becomes a Christian pastor.
“Couldn’t be more thrilled,” Carver tweeted.
This is the very first major solo project for Carver. Besides ‘Teen Wolf’ where he and brother Max played a pair of werewolf twins, the two currently star in the HBO drama series ‘The Leftovers’.
