‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ Actor Comes Out as Gay
No, not Hugh Jackman (that’ll happen next year! Kidding!) — the other actor, Troye Sivan, who played the young James Howlett in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine.’
The Australian actor and ‘YouTube’ star released an inspiring video on his ‘YouTube’ page in which he announced to the world that he’s gay after coming out to his friends and family.
“This is most nervous I’ve ever been in my entire life,” Sivan said. “It feels kind of weird to have to announce it like this on the Internet, but … this is not something that I’m ashamed of, and it’s not something anybody should have to be ashamed of, so why not share it with all of you guys?”
Sivan said in the six months after coming out to his best friend, he watched as many coming-out videos on YouTube that he could, and they truly helped him. He hopes his video will provide hope for other gay and bisexual people, too. “Those people on YouTube, those brave, brave people on YouTube, without them, I don’t really know where I’d be.” Check out the full video below.
