Feliciano Lopez upset over ‘metrosexual’ comments
Tennis hottie, Feliciano Lopez, the Spanish tennis player who beat Andy Roddick in Friday’s third round of Wimbledon, has been nicknamed “Deliciano” by the mother of a rival player. The name stems from Lopez’s heartthrob good looks and his belief that any opportunity to go shirtless is a good one.
Given the attention paid to his chiseled physique and manly appearance, you’d think Lopez would be used to people talking about such aspects of his being. A recent dust-up with American television analyst Justin Gimelstob suggests otherwise.
During Lopez’s upset win over Roddick, Gimelstob discussed the Spaniard’s reputation:
“I think Feliciano is a great player, but he certainly loves to look in the mirror. And it’s okay to do it, he’s a very attractive man. People always talk about women, but he is tall, handsome, with a good body. Very metrosexual, yes. But not only him, his style of tennis is also attractive.”
Lopez angered by Gimelstob’s ‘metrosexual’ comments replied via Twitter:
So what’s the verdict. Lopez is handsome? Check. Good body? Check! Metrosexual? We’d call it European, but yes.
